Mathematics
Our Maths curriculum fosters curiosity, resilience, and confidence. We help students see Maths not just as numbers, but as a way of understanding the world.
Using the White Rose Maths curriculum, and aligned with the National Curriculum aims, we develop fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills. Learning is adapted to support SEMH needs, with small, structured steps that build confidence and independence.
We aim to equip students with the mathematical thinking and life skills needed for a successful future — nurturing the problem-solvers and decision-makers of tomorrow.
We recognise Maths as a foundation for understanding the world, critical for everyday life and future employment.
Our curriculum aims to ensure all students:
- Achieve fluency in fundamental mathematical concepts,
- Develop the ability to reason mathematically, and
- Solve problems in a range of contexts.
We are committed to meeting the diverse SEMH needs of our students, providing structured, supportive and carefully differentiated learning experiences. Our approach prioritises small, sequential steps to build confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards Maths.
Through this, we aspire to develop mathematically confident, independent young people, prepared for the next stage of education and life beyond school.
