Transition Day – welcoming our new pupils and staff

Our first exciting day as we wind down for the summer break is our Transition Day!

On Thursday 9th July we will be welcoming our new pupils and staff, and everyone will get to meet their new class September class team. Last year we found that this worked really well for our pupils and it takes away some of the September anxiety.

Summer Fete

Heading into our final week, we will be holding a summer fete for our parents to come visit the school at 2pm, to see our school and say goodbye to staff for the summer, as well as buy our pupils’ home made merchandise. All money raised will go back into the budget to organise fun events for next year.

Our fetes are always very popular amongst pupils, parents and staff, and it’s always a joy to see the school bustling with parents and other family members. This year it will also be a chance for us all to say goodbye to our first Year 11 cohort, who did absolutely amazing sitting their GCSE exams in May/ June.

Sports Day

On Wednesday 15th July we will be holding our Sports Day. Last year we had some really good engagement from pupils, staff and parents – and most importantly, no injuries!

Parents will be invited to join us to their child’s class slot and we hope to see many of you join us with your sporty shoes on.

Stubbers Activity Centre

On the second to last day of term, Thursday 16th July, we will be going on our annual day out to Stubbers Activity Centre. Both staff and pupils get to push their boundaries and explore new activities, often daring to do things they didn’t think they could! The laser tag games can get quite competitive, as our staff do not enjoy losing, but everyone always handles the situation well.

We’ve always had excellent weather and it’s a long but rewarding day out for all, so we are really looking forward to ending the term with this trip.
